Master of Arts in cultural anthropology, psychology and mass communications / Master thesis about film at the university of Zurich 1982. Filmschool New York university 1983/84. From1984 to 1987 Gabrielle Baur lived and worked between New York and Central America. 1988 she returned to Europe. In-depth study of directing and dramatic technique experience with Wojciech Marczewski (PL), Krzysztof Kieslowski (PL) and Frank Daniels (USA), among others. Collaboration as actress, cinematographer, assistant director and director for film, theatre and television.

1983 Co-founder of ONIX Filmproduction. Since 1984 Baur is freelance film director and film author, and has won national as international awards. Presently she is preparing her next feature AMOUR FOU IN PROCESS (working title). Gabriel Baur is living and working between Zürich, Lisbon and New York.

Since 1990 Baur is European delegate of the Swiss Filmmakers Association ARF/FDS for the European directors association FERA. Since 1995 lecturer at private and public universities, among others at the ZHdK/ Zürcher Hochschule der Künste/ MA Film. Publications. 2005 patronage film for the first national transdisciplinary „ Forum des artistes Bienne“
